A Chimes “Buff” (1966, Washington, D.C.)

For twenty years, a voice of Georgetown has brought to our community as consistent a professional quality of singing as could be found anywhere. As that voice has come down to us over the years little has changed; to hear the Chimes today is to know how they were then. This consistency, this quality is not accidental. It was part of the very design and discipline of the original group whose strength and character are the first things inherited by any would-be Chime or “neophyte.” A voice, yes, but a Chime first. It is this sense of the past—this permanency, this tradition, if you will—that has brought to Alma Mater a distinction few have been able to achieve. And to think that Frank Jones planned the whole thing, right from the outset!
